The lake Titicaca, split between Bolivia and Peru, is one of the biggest lake in south America, and at 3812m high considered as the highest navigable lake in the world. It’s the cradle of the Inca civilization: Viracocha, the first Aymara god, would be born in this lake before creating the world and the Andean civilizations.

Back in Bolivia, we happily see again old ladies dressed in the traditional way : a large skirt with many layers, thick socks, a backpack made from a colored piece of fabric and a hat covering their long black braids. They seem to wear that dress in any circumstances: to work in the fields or take the bus... Meanwhile we have to change dress 3 times a day because of the differences of temperature at this altitude.

After these few resting days, we hit back the road to the east and the high altitudes. On the menu of our last days in Chile:sand, hot springs, lagunas, salars, canyons , volcanoes and of course lamas...

Once again we leave the altiplano via a vertiginous downhill which makes us loose 3000m altitude in less than 30 km.

Located in the south west of Uyuni salar, this area of the altiplano is famous for its landscapes, most of them gathered in the Eduardo Avaroe reserve. One can find here laguna of different colors, pink flamingos, volcanoes, geysers and hot springs, salars, vicunas and lamas...
